I am attending Brigham Young University. My major is in English and I'm minoring in Asian Studies and French. My emphasis in Asian Studies is in Mandarin. I have taken classes in tutoring, and during those classes I was required to volunteer my time to my fellow students. I earned my CRLA Tutoring Level I Certification at the same time by working extra hours tutoring Chemistry. I have also worked as a TA here at Brigham Young for the last few semesters. I grade papers and help my fellow students improve their writing. These experiences have helped me grow in confidence as a teacher. I like to teach my students the skills they need to succeed, not just rote and repetition. By teaching them these skills they can go on to learn new concepts and subjects on their own. I believe the true calling of a tutor is to teach the student to move beyond the teacher and become independent.I teach Algebra I & II, Chemistry, College Essays, Essay Editing, Grammar and Mathematics, Literature, Reading, Writing, French, Mandarin Chinese, and I can help you advance in standardized tests in such subjects as SAT Writing, SAT Math, SAT Verbal, HSPT, ISEE, SSAT, PSAT Critical Reading, among many others. I also teach a number of AP courses including AP Chemistry and AP English Literature and Composition.
